It’s May!

… and that means Camp NaNo is over–yes, I measure time by NaNo vs not-NaNo, unless I am measuring it by which critters are currently populating my Animal Crossing island (see ya later, tarantulas–hello, scorpions).

I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped–my goal for the month was 15000 words, and I finished just shy of 11000–but I was ill the last week of the month (nothing serious, thankfully) so I did ok, considering. Better–my story is going really well, and I am very happy with how it is coming together. It’s taken a few twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, but that’s what I get for pantsing*.

There is not much else to update, so I will leave you with the following video. It has nothing to do with my writing except in the vaguest sense because it’s fantasy, but it’s sweet and timely. Enjoy!

*pantsing=writing without a real plan, ie, “by the seat of your pants.” I usually start with character concept(s) and write the story around them, rather than starting with a plot or outline and making the characters fit into the narrative.
